Is “safe” safe or is “safe” not safe?

How many times have we all heard the government say that our drinking water is safe to drink? The thing is that when they say that the water is safe, they’re not really saying that it’s safe! Confused? You should be. When local governments in the USA say that their water is safe they aren’t using the English language definition of the word “safe”, but rather they are using the legal definition of the word safe; a definition that they’ve defined. So can “safe” drinking water have harmful contaminants in it? Absolutely, in fact it happens every day in cities all around the country.

If a person or company did this it would be called deception. If a country does it it’s called the law.
