If you are getting excited for Thanksgiving and have been dreaming of turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sauce, there’s one more item to add to the list, pure distilled water. Water is an essential part of many recipes, so why add extra ingredients like lead, arsenic, nitrates, micro-plastics, or pharmaceuticals to your delicious Thanksgiving meal? We’ve compiled a fun checklist of ways you can use Pure Water™ to make your Thanksgiving even better!
10. Cleaning
Have you committed to using fewer chemicals? Cleaning with distilled water is a great way to save money while reducing chemicals—mix distilled water with lemon oil, and vinegar for a powerful cleaning spray. To make a small batch of cleaning solution, use ¼ cup of distilled vinegar and 1.5 cups of distilled water with roughly 25 drops of essential oil (or you can mix some oils). Some of our favorites are lemon, orange, lavender, pine and spearmint oil. This mixture works well for sinks and most countertops. Clean floors with a combination of orange oil, vinegar, and distilled water, and your guests will remark on your beautiful shiny floors that also smell great.
9. Soups
Water is the foundation of many soups. If you make broth, you will definitely start with water. Some fantastic soups for your Thanksgiving feast include squash or pumpkin soup, French onion soup, or sweet potato soup. They are all festive and delicious. Use distilled water to make all of these soups with the help of spices as required. Using water instead of readymade broth will also save you money, and you can make the soup taste exactly how you want it to taste. Don’t forget about the turkey soups that you can make after Thanksgiving!
8. Punch / Iced Tea
Get more flavor in your punch and iced tea by using distilled water. If you are using a powder, you will likely find that you need less to achieve the desired results. Remember, if your tap water doesn’t taste good now, and you add it to your punch, iced tea, or other holiday drinks, it’s going to affect the flavor of those things too.
7. Crystal Clear Ice
It’s vital to make your ice with distilled water! We can’t stress this enough. If you make your holiday punch with distilled water, why would you put old cloudy, smelly freezer ice in it? In addition to that, if you are serving any drinks “on the rocks,” you will impress your guests with crystal clear ice that won’t ruin the taste of the drink. Buy round ice molds for adult beverages or shaped ice molds to float around in the punch bowl for added enjoyment. Ice-shaped leaves in a red punch bowl will help set the mood. Put tiny pieces of fruit like small orange chunks in them for a little extra style.
6. Coffee / Hot Tea / Other Hot Drinks
Coffee and tea deserve the best water to bring out their natural flavor. You won’t need as much coffee to make a pot, and the taste and aroma will be amazing. Hot tea won’t require as many bags to brew a pot either. By using distilled water, you will also save money over time.
5. Special Diets
Many are struggling to cook for those on special diets like gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, and more. If you are being especially mindful about cooking from scratch to ensure your recipes are safe for your guests, distilled water is beneficial. If you can’t use milk or broths, use distilled water instead. Many liquids like oil can be replaced with water, although the taste and texture might differ slightly. By reducing oils, milk, butter, or broths, you might also reduce calories this way.
4. Desserts
Several desserts rely on water, especially if you are making it from scratch. Some popular chocolate cake recipes require boiled water, fruit pies need water to make the filling, and of course, there’s Jello, and we shouldn’t forget hot cocoa. Keep your flavors on point by using only distilled water in your dessert recipes.
3. Steaming Vegetables
Steaming vegetables with distilled water will keep them clean and fresh. Their full flavor will come out as well. If you are a fan of fresh veggies, just trying to offer something besides butter and gravy-laden foods, or providing options to those with food allergies or preferences, then distilled water is your friend. A beautiful dish of steamed broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, or a mix of these will be gobbled up by all. Add herbs, spices, salt, and fresh ground pepper for a little extra taste.
2. Rolls / Homemade Bread
Do you like to surprise your guests with your excellent baking skills? If so, use distilled water next time you make your bread or rolls. You can substitute milk for water to make cornbread as well.
1. Drinking Water
Everyone needs a nice tall glass of distilled water at the dinner table. Add your crystal clear ice cubes (#7) and you have yourself the perfect glass of water. The benefits of drinking water can’t be overstated. Water is good for your skin, digestion, brain, heart, blood, and overall well-being. Staying hydrated helps each of us stay healthy. It’s the perfect drink for the perfect day. From our families to yours, we hope you have a wonderful and happy Thanksgiving!

Hello,
I purchased the CT-mini from you a few years ago. Still working great and I make a jar every day.
I bought the distiller because my husband was suffering from kidney stones and the episodes were becoming more frequent even with diet changes. I started using distilled water and he has not had an episode for years.
The reason I purchased a Pure Water distiller was because I didn’t want the plastics from store bought bottles. The glass jars work great for storage. I got some vintage Pyrex coffee carafes and use them to look good on the counter. One in the kitchen and one for the master bath.
Can’t say enough about this product. Save the earth and your body from plastics. Use a quality American made product. Make your food and drinks taste better. A winning choice.
