Making Money
We have designed the Pure Water Business Opportunity to be as flexible as possible so you can customize your business in the best way for you. There are a number of different ways that you can make money at this business. Let’s look at six different ways that you can make money. You can explore each option for more detailed suggestions.
1) Local sales.
The core of function of your business will be to sell our premium water distillers to families and businesses in your local area for drinking (and consumable) water. This is usually done via a face-to-face sales presentation in which you sit down with a couple and educate them on the need for the product. As you probably know, sales is about more than just educating someone, it’s primarily about being passionate about something and transferring that passion. Making a sale is primarily an emotional action, and the knowledge and facts back up and reinforce the emotional aspect. This is why it’s important to totally, passionately believe in what you’re doing.
The basic process for local sales is to a) purchase some inventory from Pure Water, b) do presentations and c) sell the products. You will purchase the products at wholesale price and mark up the products. You are free to sell the products in your local area at a price that you set. Some people sell for less than the SRP and some sell for higher.

2) Local rentals.
We are big proponents of developing a fleet of rental products. Rentals provide you with a consistent source of monthly revenue. For example, let’s say that you have 100 distillers on rental making an average of $70 per month in revenue each. So your business will be bringing in $7,000 each month. You continue to own the products and if someone cancels you can put the same unit out on rental with someone else. This creates a very stable business because this passive income comes in each month regardless of whether you make any new sales or not. This is an excellent long-term approach to your business. Another advantage to renting products is that it can be easier to get customers for a low monthly fee every month as opposed to a large investment. Our products are excellent for a rental program because they are heavy duty machines that last for a very long time.
Rentals are a long-term revenue source. So while a sale will make you profit immediately, you won’t make profit on a rental for at least 18 months. Over the long-term you will make more money with a rental, but you will have the initial investment in the fleet of distillers.
One successful approach has been to do a balance of sales versus rentals. So the sales generate immediate income while the rentals generate long-term passive income.
3) Service & Maintenance Income
Another source of income that many dealers like is on-going maintenance and service fees. In order to ensure proper operation and longevity of our water distillers, regular maintenance and service should be performed. Some customers like to do this themselves, but most do not. If you are technically inclined or want to hire someone to do service we suggest that you sell annual service contracts to your customers. Some dealers do not like the technical side of the business so they would rather team up with another local service business to perform these activities.
Note that this is only relevant to customers that you sell to. When you rent you should roll all maintenance fees into the rental fee.
