There’s a new article on the 10 US cities with the Worst Drinking Water. Read the article and be shocked and amazed. So let me shock and amaze you more.
The city with the worst water in the US is Pensacola, Florida. Here’s what the report said…“Located on the Florida Panhandle along the Gulf of Mexico, Pensacola is Florida's westernmost major city. Analysts say it has the worst water quality in the country. Of the 101 chemicals tested for over five years, 45 were discovered. Of them, 21 were discovered in unhealthy amounts. The worst of these were radium-228 and -228, trichloroethylene, tetrachloroethylene, alpha particles, benzine and lead. Pensacola's water was also found to contain cyanide and chloroform. The combination of these chemicals makes Pensacola's water supply America's most unhealthy.” (See the full report here)
Sounds bad, right? But understand this…Pensacola’s water still meets the legal standards of “safe” drinking water! Pensacola can still say to it's citizens that the city has safe drinking water! I’ve written about this many times (past articles 1, 2, 3), so I won’t go into detail here, but let me just summarize by saying that the government uses the legal definition of the word safe, not the English language definition of the word safe. So your water can be safe (legally), yet be very unsafe (real-world)!
What it comes down to is this: it is YOUR responsibility to ensure that your family is drinking water that is free from dangerous toxins! Don’t just wash your hands of it and leave it up to the government.
